Dr Elena Vázquez Dueñas

Elena Vázquez Dueñas is nowadays associate lecturer at the Department of Art History at Complutense University (Madrid). Between 2013 and 2016, she was postdoctoral researcher Juan de la Cierva linked to Fundación Carlos de Amberes (Madrid). Her European PhD thesis, supervised by Prof. Fernando Checa, was entitled “Felipe de Guevara (c. 1500-1563). Biografía y análisis crítico de su Comentario de la pintura y pintores antiguos” (Universidad Complutense de Madrid, 2011). She got the mark Sobresaliente Cum Laude and it is published in publisher Akal. She has published about this topic several papers and participated in different National and International Conferences.


She is also specialized in the transcription and study of Royal Inventories of Habsburg Family, participating in projects such as: Inventories of Charles V and Imperial Family; Royal Inventories of Philip II (with the study and transcription of Libros de entregas of Philip II to El Escorial); Royal Inventories of Philip II’s Family with the study and transcription of Isabel de Valois’ inventories); Spaces of collecting in House of Austria: XVI and XVII centuries (with the study and transcription of Postmortem Inventory of Philip II). Nowadays, she is a researcher linked to the research group Arte, poder y sociedad en la Edad Moderna (http://arteysociedad.blogs.uva.es/), supervised by Prof. Miguel Ángel Zalama (Universidad de Valladolid), and to the research project Spaces of  collecting II, supervised by Dr. Matteo Mancini. In 2016 she also published her book El Bosco en las fuentes españolas (Editorial Doce Calles).
