Dotoral Thesis focused on the Dukes of Burgundy and the art at their court.

Oskar Jacek Rojewski, who carried out a fellowship at the Instituto Moll last year, has obtained the highest rating with great honours after defending his doctoral thesis Art, ceremonial and festive splendour at the court of the Dukes of Burgundy (1419-1477). The valets de chambre and their artistic tasks at the Jaume I University. Our most sincere and proudest congratulations to you, Oskar.

The extraordinary issue of "Philostrato. Journal of History and Art".

The extraordinary issue 2018 of Philostrato. Journal of History and Art is available now. It includes the best papers submitted to the 9th Conference of Spanish, Belgian and Dutch historians. The Institutions of the Habsburg Low Countries (XVI-XVIII c.). In Honour of Professor Hugo de Schepper, which was held on 26-27 May 2016, in Nimega (The Netherlands), ran by professors José Eloy Hortal Muñoz (Rey Juan Carlos University) and Dries Raeymaekers (Radboud University).

Remember, 1 october is the deadline for submitting contributions to the December issue 2018 of Philostrato.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS.

The Instituto Moll, in collaboration with the Leiden University and the Rey Juan Carlos University, is organising the congress "Magnificence in the 17th century: Performing Splendour in Republican and Princely Contexts", which will be held in Madrid, 7-8 March 2019.

1 May 2018 is the abstract submission deadline, which have to be written in english (maximum 250 words).

Gaspar de Crayer at the Epiarte collection.

The Epiarte Collection, linked to the Instituto Moll, has temporarily ceded the painting by Gaspar de Crayer "Rinaldo and Armida" to the Fine Arts Museum Saint Pío V in Valencia.
