A new doctoral thesis on Maria Anna of Neuburg

Dr Gloria Martínez Leiva, author of El inventario del Alcázar de Madrid de 1666. Felipe IV y su colección artística (Inventory of the Royal Alcázar of Madrid in 1666. Philip IV and his artistic collection), among many other publications, has just defended her doctoral thesis on the second wife of the King Charles II and Queen Consort of Spain “Mariana de Neoburgo (1667-1740). Escenarios, imagen y posesiones de una reina” (“Maria Anna de Neuburg (1667-1740). Scenes, image and possessions of a Queen”). Our most sincere congratulations, Gloria.

Course "La revuelta de los Países Bajos y los inicios de la Guerra de Flandes (1566-1578)".

Next Monday, 13th May, the course La revuelta de los Países Bajos y los inicios de la Guerra de Flandes (1566-1578) will be finished. It has been organised by the Fundación Carlos de Amberes in collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes in Utrecht, the Complutense University in Madrid, the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, and the Leiden University.

This course focuses on that war and its consequences, as well as on the Duke of Alba and the effects on the Flemish culture and art.
